Business and Technology capacity building places the individual at the center of it’s programme. It has 6 training modules. Each module represents a step in the training process.

- Income Generation
- Business Planning
- Micro Finance
- Technology
- Industrial Training
Step 1 – Business Terminology:
Business terminology lays the business foundations. It introduces business terms such as - income, costs, profit, cash flow and stock control. Increasing your understanding of business principles is important when planning to own a business.
Step 2 – Income Generation:
Income generation introduces ideas of small to medium sized businesses. Additionally, it assesses the skills and material resources needed to start and operate a business.
Step 3 – Business Planning:
Business Planning guides you through the principals of writing your own business plan. The 2 focus areas are Capital Analysis and Operational Analysis. We end step 3 with techniques on how to market and monitor your business.
Step 4 – Micro Finance:
Micro finance introduces the fundraising side of starting a business. It looks at the many sources of raising funds from loans, grants and contribution based systems. Additionally, we encourage participants to apply for small-scale business loans from a central fund.
Loans are offered to applicants who have successfully completed either a certificate or diploma training course and are members of the “NSD Alumni Programme”.
Step 5 – Technology:
We at NSD believe that the effective use of technology and communication tools is vital for business progress and success.
Technology introduces delegates to the main software packages of Windows. This includes MS Word, MS Excel and Internet Explorer. Additionally we introduce email and Yahoo as the email operating system.
Step 6 – Industrial Training:
Industrial Training is offered to Advanced Diploma graduates only. The aim of the placement is to continue the learning experience when managing a real business. Placements are for 6 months and NSD pay a salary. |
